Youngstars scraped a narrow win, but the game was overshadowed by a bad injury to Lloyd, who was taken to the Sick Kids after an opponent caught him on the ankle after sliding on after winning the ball. The game was also brought to a premature end when driving rain sent the boys running from the pitch.
Earlier Seth had scored his first headed goal for Youngstars, flicking in Cammy Brown's corner in the first of three 20-minute periods. Cammy Brown then missed a penalty after Seth was pulled down while turning in teh box and despite plenty of chances, we couldn't get a second. Longniddry fought hard but were mainly restricted to long-range efforts which David dealt with confidently.
Jack won man of the match for some excellent defending, and thankfully sn X-Ray showed Lloyd had nothing broken - although his ankle is sprained and badly bruised. It goes without saying that, as ever, he had a brilliant game.
