Blue Stripes get new season off to a flier 23-8-08

TRANENT JUNIORS 2 -V- 12 MYS BLUE STRIPES

A resounding victory in a match during which the boys continued to play passing football despite the pitch being over long following a horrendous weeks weather. We started off confidently and had the bulk of the possession and chances yet somehow fell 1 behind to the home sides first attack! All credit to the players though who did no let the early set back affect them and they quickly went 1-2 ahead before Tranent then scored with their second attack to level at 2-2! Once again though the players dug in and finished the first half 2-4 ahead.

The second half saw us stamp our authority on the match with one way traffic towards the Tranent goal although the boys continued to pass the ball well and didnt get greedy with it. The game finished 2-12 in our favour with the goals being shared out amongst Aarran C, Blair C, Blair M, Matthew, Dylan and MOTM Josh who worked tirelessly in the middle of the park. Debutant Reece also had a solid game at Left back setting up one goal from a corner and almost getting on the score sheet himself.
