GOOD RUN AT DUNBAR CONTINUES 19-04-08

DUNBAR 2 MYS BLACK STRIPES 3

The Black Stripes had two good wins at Dunbar last season and continued this run with a great result.

Youngstars made a slow start to the game and struggled to compete, with Dunbar picking up most of the 50-50 balls. The home team broke away to go ahead with a close-range effort but with almost our first attack, Seth equalised with a great finish into the corner. Although Dunbar were still having more possession, Youngstars then went ahead when Paul side-footed coolly into the top corner.

Paul almost made it 3-1 in the second of two 25-minute periods after a lovely move and Blair hit a powerful shot over after more nice team-play, but Youngstars did get some breathing space when Lloyd hit a crisp, low shot into the corner of the net. He had to come off soon after but Jason, Callum and Cammy Brown held things together well in the middle of the park.

Seth could have put the game beyond Dunbar's reach but their keeper made a good save from his volley and then he turned a defender well but put the ball narrowly wide of the far post. David made a couple of good saves as Dunbar fought back, but with Connor and Jack under increasing pressure at the back, the home side sneaked a scrappy goal back - yet Youngstars held on for a really good win.
