MYS BLACKS 4 MYS BLUES 0
The first game between the blues and blacks this season ended with a good win for the blacks - though the scoreline makes the victory look much more comfortable than it actually was.
The blacks started the game with some brilliant football and after a lovely bit of team passing, Lloyd smacked a shot towards the top corner, but Ross did really well to push it away for a corner. From the kick, Jack got in a clear header but Ross again saved well.
The blacks took the lead following a good throw from Callum, who found Seth in space. The ball sat up nicely and although Seth miscued the shot slightly, the ball went in off the inside of the post.
The blues' best first-half move came when Matthew won possession and put a lovely ball through for Blair whose shot from the edge of the box went just wide.
Most of the action was at the other end, with Aaron O'Donnell and Dylan working overtime in defence to stop the blacks extending their lead. They held firm until a corner was only half-cleared and Seth placed his shot neatly in the corner of the net.
The blues came back into the game with a couple of corners just before the break and came out very strongly afterwards. Aaran Curire went close twice as Connor and Jack were put under a lot of pressure at the back for the blacks.
Paul Clark also had a near miss and Cammy Brown saved well from Euan - but by then, the blacks were further ahead after Brandon stroked in from close range. Scott also went close for the blacks before Seth took and cross, turned neatly in the box and fired into the far corner for his hat-trick.
The blues continued to press and were very unlucky to lose by four goals in a game that could have gone either way.
Squads: Blues - Ross, Aaron O, Dylan, Josh, Blair, Matthew, Euan, Paul, Aaran C.
