BLACKS LUCKY AT LOANHEAD,

LOANHEAD 0 MYS BLACKS 2

Black Stripes made it five wins in the Maradona league in a row - and four wins in a week - with a hard-fought victory.

Again, the win was built from the back, with Cammy Brown pulling off some magnificent saves, and David and Jason rock-solid in defence in the absence of Connor.

Loanhead were a well-organised, quick-pasing team and created quite a number of chances, but Youngstars went in 1-0 up at half-time when Scott set up Seth and his shot squeezed in, despite the best efforts of the home keeper.

Scott made it 2-0 in the second half when he deflected home Lloyd's shot, but most of the action was at the other end, with Cammy Brown making two excellent late saves, tipping the ball around the post and then over the bar.

Excluding the crazy windy game against the Windsor Pele team, we have now won seven games in a row (including the blues' friendly and 11s game at Tranent) and scored 30 goals with only three in reply. We are starting to realise that if we really get stuck in, all over the pitch, that we can make our own luck. Compared to earlier in the season, when we were dominating games and losing narrowly, we are now toughing games out and proving urselves very hard to beat. Well done to all the boys for their hard work - and skill!

Squad: Cammy, David, Jason, Jack, Lloyd, Seth, Callum, Scott, Blair, Brandon.
Scorers: Seth, Scott
